December 18, 2006

Today we received 2 important packages, one from our agency and one from the province of N.B.
In one package we found, our passports, airline tickets, Chinese Visa's and lots of info about travelling to China.
In the second, we found our Notice of Coming to China Letter. If you look in the pics below you will see Alyana's pic on the bottom of the form.

The next picture is a laminated card in Chinese explaining why we we will be carrying this pretty little dark haired/ dark eyed beauty while in China. I'm sure we will have many curious on-lookers. Which reminds me, we have to stock up on some Canadian items to give out to people who approach us.

In regards to our medication for travel,

JP decided not to take the Dukoral for ..... ahem ....traveler's diarrhea . I have opted to take it . The thought of having to have fast access to a toilet while travelling on a bus in and around the country side does not appeal to me in the least. We will see who makes it out of the country without having to sit on the "throne".

Say no more ......yeah.....not a great subject I realize.

Anyway ...we are getting closer by the second and we are EXCITED !!! The only thing that would make it better would be to have Ben join us. He will be home with my girlfriend and we will try and maintain contact through the webcam We will miss him terribly.

Just posting this sweet little face again,

because .......

in 20 .....

(
COUNT THEM) ........

yes ........

20 days
.....

We are China bound.

Santa visited our neighbourhood today.

It is such a great neighbourhood and the kids had a terrific time.

Soon Aly will be in the middle of all of this chaos :)

Here is our Christmas Tree .... it's doesn't look too bad after it's near fatal "nose dive" across the coffee table.

A few bulbs lost their lives, but nothing sentimental !

Phew .....

December 11, 2006

It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our home up until about 2 hours ago ......

and then .......

look at what happened ...........

I swear , I was hanging the LAST bulb and it toppled over !

It's a good thing I like Christmas ........:)

December 9, 2006

27 days til I hold my girl !

We are getting close to "Gotcha Day".

First we have to celebrate Christmas though.

Today we chopped down our tree and brought it home.

We are letting it defrost as I post.

It was cold today .......Brrrrr .....

Where is the time going ?

This month is going to be hectic.

Christmas is in 23 days and I have yet to finish shopping, we have a big gang coming to stay with us for Christmas and we leave for China a month from Tuesday.

We met with our doctor yesterday and obtained a px. for Zithromax and Cipro. We also visted the travel clinic on Wedneday and got the rest of our shots.

J.P had one and I had two (ouch).

Time to start packing !

I have surfed so many packing lists and have chosen the packing list that will work for us ( I hope).

JP and I will have only one day in Beijing before we board a plane for Changsha to meet Alyana the afternoon of the 8th of January. We,therefore, have to be as organized as possible as we don't want to be half way around the world rearranging suitcases at the last moment. We plan on packing suitcases to leave in Beijing and then take the rest to Changsha.

Oh my goodness, we almost have her !!
